Khan Academy profiled on CBS News' 60 Minutes

Ever wonder if just one person could change the world?  It has been shown throughout history that a sole individual can make an indelible imprint on society, or do something that leads to a movement or lasting change.

Sal Khan, a native of the New Orleans - Metairie area, is doing just that with his online education source, Khan Academy.  Millions of students around the world seek out his tutorials that cover everything from math and science to some select liberal arts subjects.  My attention was called to this phenomenon last year, after reading about him in Business Week.

"He teaches millions of students a month, yet none of them has seen his face. Sal Khan is a disembodied voice on the Internet, but his teaching method has become so effective that he may be the future of American education,” says CBS News in its promotional material.
